Crochet: Bead Necklace {Pattern & Tutorial}
String all the beads up by sliding the ribbon through the holes using a tapestry, with 5 bigger beads at the center and 3 smaller beads on each side. If you like to space the beads in between, tie a big knot on the ribbon in between the beads. Measure the length you want for your necklace. Cut away the excess. Finally attach the jump ring and necklace clasp at the end of the ribbon. As an option, you can also leave the tail ends long and tie into a ribbon instead of installing the clasp. Freeform Beaded Necklace
I wanted to share my freeform beaded necklace I have been working on lately. I started this project with a different color palette, then changed along the way. I still need to do my finishing touches, including some fringe-work and the necklace strap. Here are two images: one has a light background and the second has a black background. What is amazing to me is that the color changes in the Swarovski crystal pendant based on the background color. Keep in mind the photos are very rough, I will bring in a photo box and lighting for the finished piece. Here is the black background: The crystal pendant, in person, appears much lighter. Similar to a light white/champagne color. Here is a better image of this cool snowflake pendant: When I am done, I will have to think carefully how to photograph this piece. Perhaps draped over some seashells or some other texture. Keep watching and I will share more pictures when it is done.

Fabric and Wood Bead necklaces
I’ve been totally inspired by all the wood jewelry I’ve been seeing. I bought an awesome wood bead necklace from Old Navy last week (and btw, when did Old Navy start selling awesome jewelry??) and was inspired to create some original new accessories of my own using wood craft beads and fabric! I started off by getting a great variety of Knit fabrics. Think Jersey and cotton Tshirt fabric. Fabrics that have a stretch and when cut don’t fray! These craft beads are perfect. They are sold in a variety pack and come in a variety of stains and sizes and are sealed and shiny! For this first version I used my rotary cutter and cut 3 long (the width of my fabric) 1 inch strips of fabric. I used a metal skewer to help guide the fabric through the beads. In between each bead I tied a knot. I then braided and knotted the ends and secured the ends with Ribbon Clasps. *******

Falling Leaves Freeform Beaded Necklace
My latest freeform beaded necklace is finally finished! Inspired by the colors of fall! I have been working on this piece off and on for the past few weeks. This necklace features green & amber Toho seed bead mixes & copper leaf links from Artbeads.com . The leaves are actually real carob leaves that have been plated in copper! Each leaf is completely unique! This necklace is very elegant and comfortable to wear! You can see more photos at my Etsy shop where this necklace is available for sale . I do have a few of these copper leaves left, so I think I’ll make a matching bracelet and earrings next!
