I recently had a custom piece made by Weiss Jewelry Stainless Steel Rings, and they were more than helpful. They helped me understand the difference between gems, gem styles, aspects of clarity etc…, different ways to shape a piece to benefit the wearer and more. They took a lot of their own time to help me beyond what I expected – They were absolutely trustworthy Sterling Silver Bracelets, and I will return. Highly recommended!
This jewelry and watch repair store is very unique. The owners run it and are always very helpful. If you are looking for unique pieces of jewelry, or want to make something special, they do it all. They offer repairs and I bought a really nice pendant for much less than other place. Plus, they fixed my watch for free (I needed a link removed).Great people and honest!
What is going on at this place? ?The jeweler is either dishonest or totally incompetent — my piece came out the OPPOSITE of what he said. ?The ladies just shrugged when I complained when I picked it up. ?I left messages for the jeweler and the owner. ?Neither would call me back. ? I guess they get their business from tourists and don’t care how they treat people in the community. I’ve bought their pieces in the past Body jewelry, and NEVER would again.

Was debating between 3 and 4 , but ultimately gave it a 4 ’cause well, I round up. Anyways, this location is actually quite beautiful relative to most of the other stores I have seen. Everything is so beautifully displayed and that is the reason why I had kept the 4 stars. Ok, here is where I was contemplating lower…. They don’t seem to have many of the current jewelry in stock. I had a lot of trouble finding men’s styles in store and they had to order most everything that I wanted to see in person. In contrast, when I look at the Tiffany store on Rodeo, they had everything. EVERYTHING. haha.Anyways, this is a nice store to look at. But if you already know what you want and you want to try it on in store that day, you may have to go elsewhere.
Day before Vday, quite possibly the busiest day of the year, and they are totally understaffed!!! They make you give your name to the security guard and he calls your name over the PA system when a sales assoc is finally available to help you. Talk about TACKY for a store charging $1,000 for a necklace with a diamond the size of a lint ball!!! By the time they call the customers names most of them have left already. All I hear is, “Ken H., are you still here?” over the PA…pleasant. Even worse, I’m here to return a pair of earrings that BROKE!!! ?I hope the Hubs didn’t buy my current years Valentines Day gift from here! Can’t wait to get outta here.
I would probably give this place 3.5 stars if that was an option. ?I bumped it up to 4 (instead of dropping it to 3) based on the fact that it’s pretty close to where i live so it’s relatively convenient if i need to pick something up last minute. The store is a fairly decent size with a pretty good inventory. ? They usually have what i’m looking for. ?Although if i had the time and i’m making a big purchase i’d probably prefer the South Coast location since they have a much larger inventory.I’ve gotten consistently good customer service here. ?Pretty much all the Tiffany locations i’ve been to (maybe 10 different locations total?) have had good customer service but due to location I frequent this location the most. The only time i had a slight problem was when i purchased an item and didn’t check it before i left the store. ?Once i got home i realized there were actually scratches on it. ?I took it back and explained I received the item scratched. ?The salesperson was a bit irritated and said that all the pieces are examined by the sales people before they pack it up (which i specifically remembered they DID NOT in this instance). ? Regardless, the salesperson exchanged the item and developed a much nicer attitude towards the end of this exchange so I gave them a pass.Just as a side note, ?I see that some people complained about the sales people being snooty. ?It’s not uncommon for sales people at upscale retail stores or waiters at high end restaurants to be snooty. ?It’s stupid but oh well. ?I’ve personally never had to deal with a snooty sales person at this location. ?But in general i don’t get that kind of attitude…possibly because i try not to dress like a bum when i frequent those types of places O.o ?I mean seriously, a place like this expects a certain level of disposable income from their customers….and how you dress/look is the first thing they will notice.
Not quite the selection of the Beverly Hills store, but still a lovely store with stunning displays and an elegant decor. The staff is courteous to all, in true Tiffany tradition, which makes shopping here a joy.(Watch out for Valentine’s Day… the line tends to wrap around the block, so come early!)
How to keep a wife happy? TIFFANY & CO.It was nice to walk around old town Pasadena with my husband and to my surprise we walked in and he bought me a beautiful necklace. Do i have the best husband in the world or does Tiffany’s have the best location!
It’s the BLING BLING that every girl craves. The staff are quite friendly but I feel they are slightly pushy for a sale and if your only looking for silver they can careless if your there. It’s the Gold and Platinum they are wanting you to buy. Granted Silver has gone way up in price. I’ve always liked their designs but now a days downtown LA is looking more of a bargain then you’ll ever get at Tiffany’s. I came here to polish my ring and they stated I needed it to be sent out which I don’t understand. I could have sworn the one in Costa Mesa cleaned it several years back. Don’t bring the misses or you’ll wish you never walked in here. In this economy I dunno! Time for a revamp!
I walked in still in my school uniform, I go to Le Cordon Bleu, desperate for a 2 year anniversary present for my girlfriend. Let me just say, definitely on top five experiences of buying anything! The nice lady helped me pick out something perfect for both what I wanted to give and within my price range. :) If ever you want to buy something from Tiffany’s, hope that a girl named Michelle there. She helped me and I couldn’t ask for anyone nicer and more helpful.
I’m just reviewing on my experience with the having to get a bracelet resized. I’m the type of girl that doesn’t dress girly girl, more like a tshirt and jeans/shorts type of person, so when I entered the spot, the security guard obviously gave me the WTF look. I asked a sales associate who I can speak to in regards to resizing and was helped by a rather nice Armenian lady that worked there. The Amenian lady was lovely to work with, but the lady who pointed me to her direction gave me the look of what Julia Roberts experienced in Pretty Women when trying to buy a dress on Rodeo Drive: you don’t look like you belong here. She was able to locate the bracelet on their computer systems correctly to get the fitting adjusted. She said 2 weeks and I can either come back to pick up the bracelet or they can mail it to me directly with confirmation and whatnot. I opted for the latter, which most women probably wouldn’t pick, but I had no problem getting the bracelet back fitting correctly with a note inside saying that Tiffany and Co. hope that everything turns out well.I gave it 3 stars mainly due to the staff her judging you that if you don’t look the part that would wear Tiffany’s,we don’t have to help you. I’m kinda glad that the person who actually helped me broke that stigma and provided genuine customer service as one would expect when going to ANY Tiffany’s, as a buyer or admirer.
OK. Yes I Do Buy From Tiffany’s ?But They Have Snooty Salespeople At The Pasadena Location. ?Go Elsewhere, Like The One In Glendale, Beverly Center, San Diego Or Las Vegas.Stupid Salesperson Didn’t Want To Have Anything To Do With Me When I Told Her I Was Looking For A Bracelet To Go With My Mother’s Day Present From My 1 Year Old Son. ?The Damn Charm Was From Tiffany’s, My husband Bought It From There!!! ?WTF!!!So I Didn’t Buy The Matching Charm Bracelet From There, ?Bye Bye Commission For You, You Lousy Salesperson Bitch!!!I Might, Big Might, Go Back To That Damned Location If That Bitch Doesn’t Work There Anymore!!!
I feel that the items are overpriced. You’re really buying the brand but the quality isn’t bad either. ?However, if you walk into a chinese jeweler and bought a similar item, you can save yourself hundreds to thousands. With that said, I love the style of their jewelry and their customer service. I bought a pen for a friend who loves name brands. I got it engraved. They shipped it to my house in a quickly manner. This Christmas, I received a Tiffany’s gold necklace with a diamond stud from this same friend. As soon as I walked in, the security greeted me and showed me how to get to customer service. ?Everyone was smiling and friendly. The necklace was way too short on me, it felt like I was wearing a choker. I brought it to this Tiffany’s without a receipt and asked them if they could help me extend it 2 inches longer. It cost $50 + tax which was decent. I have yet ?pick it up but will soon. If I had the money, I would go back and purchase more pieces but it isn’t reasonable. Also, i brought in my old silver tiffany’s necklace bc i kept hearing they would clean it for free. Well the saleslady said it would cost me $15. No thanks…
Of course Tiffanys gets a 5 star! Everything about this place is amazing! They were very busy when I went in and the sales woman was STILL smiling when it was out turn to be helped. Turns out they were out of the bracelet I wanted to purchase. She was nice enough to find it for me at the Americana location in Glendale. I purchased it at Pasadena and it was waiting for me when I got to Glendale! Talk about service! The bathrooms were clean. They even had a baby changing table! Loved that! Oh, and for you ladies, they have a “personal item” vending machine which is fabulous! You don’t see those around too often!I even want to compliment the bald security/greeter at the door! He was VERY nice and even held the door open for us. GREAT SERVICE!!
I adore Tiffany and Co. I love to window shop here. I have a number of pieces from Tiffany including crystal, silver pieces, platinum pieces, diamonds and pearls. The quality is amazing, but of course you will pay dearly for it. ?It pains me to give any T&Co location a poor rating.I came here because I had lost the screw back of one of my platinum diamond earrings. Unfortunately this was not the first time I had done this, but the last time I went to the South Coast Plaza location where the salesperson gave me a replacement for free. This time, I was out of luck. The customer service person at this location made me pay. Bummer. Considering that I’m a loyal customer, that was a poor choice. I have always had excellent service (Vegas, Santa Monica, Hawaii, South Coast Plaza, Rodeo) until this experience. I won’t be back to this location for future purchases.
My 83 year old Godmother had never been inside Tiffany’s. On our way back from the cheesecake factory, she asked if I would mind going in with her, she had always wanted to go inside but had been too intimidated to go by herself. The saleslady was so kind to her, letting her try on georgous citrine rings and other beautiful items we all knew weren’t going to be purchased. I won’t soon forget the kindness we were given at Tiffany’s that day and I’m sure it was a moment my godmother will cherish the rest of her life.
Staff was very polite and helpful, and not as pushy or snobby as one would think, even on a busy day (around valentine’s when I went), and considering its location (Pasadena). Personalized service is great and they’ll consult with you on your purchase (if you don’t already know).
um would anyone really rate this place any less than 5 stars? ?Came here on Valentine’s day weekend (bad idea) but it was the only time I could squeeze in with my sister.James M. helped me find the ring I had been eyeing the week before even though it was no longer on display. ?I was also interested in another ring but he suggested another one that wasn’t on display. After all of that, I ended up buying both and having them delivered because they didn’t have my size. ?He assured me that they would be delivered by friday, but they came on WEDNESDAY!!! :) I am one happy camper.p.s. make sure to bring your old tarnished Tiffany jewlery in…he cleaned up 6 pieces for me!
I have had a few experiences at this location. The first time I came here was with a friend of mine to buy his GF a necklace. He found one he liked and decided to purchase it. Then, he noticed the matching earrings. The earrings were not forced on him by the sales associate, so that was pretty cool. Not like a car salesman or anything of the sort.My second experience here was to return the aforementioned earrings that the GF did not receive because they broke up. The service was friendly and there were no hassles with the return. My third time here, I was getting a necklace that my husband bought me fixed. He bought me the necklace for Christmas and 9 months later it was broken. I was really upset about it. It was my first and only blue box. The repair area is an area off the side of the store where you are seated and the jewelry is thoroughly examined and pictures of the piece are taken. I was really worried about how much it would cost to fix it–NOTHING! What a relief. This place can certainly get quite busy! Hubby went and bought my necklace Christmas Eve day and said he was there almost 3 hours. He also noted that the line was mostly men!
Which gal’s heartbeat doesn’t go as fast as a freight train at the sight of the signature blue box and white ribbon? Tiffany & Co. jewelry embody a style that is as timeless as Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy. Everyone here is quite welcoming and friendly when you walk in. Even the guards greet and smile at you. Or maybe perhaps they are sympathetic smiles. As in, “You are sooo overpaying for what you’re getting here.” Or maybe even, “Have fun paying all that off the next few months.” Or the classic, “Sucker!”But the way I see it, it’s not just the product and brand name you are getting with a Tiffany purchase. You’re investing in peace of mind that you’ll be taken care of as a customer. I sound like I work there don’t I?Well, when my sister and I had to go in for some ring re-sizing they were absolutely wonderful. The rings were even ready for pick-up sooner than promised. Lifetime jewelry cleaning and re-sizing years from now if needed. That makes it worthwhile to me.But how do I convince the guards there so they stop taunting me with their smug smiles….
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who grew up in area of California, referred to as “the armpit” of the state (aka Bakersfield). In this far away land, where Macy’s was the epitome of ?high class, the little girl dreamed of being able to grow up and buy all of the pretty things she read about in fashion magazines. The little girl wanted one thing in particular, from a handsome prince. Was it to rescue her from the Central Valley? True love’s first kiss? No, it was something shiny and silver that came in a simple blue box tied with a white bow. As she grew up, the girl dropped several hints to her prince, who never seemed to have a clue, until eventually, the girl decided she could turn this fairytale around and find the object of her desire on her own.The girl stepped into the double doors of the store, held open by a nice gentleman and was ushered into a fantastic world of sparkling diamonds and dazzling jewelry. Having the budget of a pauper, she knew she had to buy something special. She settled on a beautiful silver ring designed by Frank Gehry and slid it on to her finger. It was like Cinderella and her glass slipper—a perfect fit. This wearble art was all hers! The mistress at the counter wrapped it up in a that signature blue box and topped it with a signature bow, and the girl felt that all her dreams had come true. The end.Ok Stainless Steel Necklaces, in all honesty, it kinda sucks when something so iconic such as Tiffany’s gets knocked off and copied on the streets of downtown LA or NY and then loses it’s value status. However Sterling Silver Rings, I’m still happy with my purchase and wouldn’t mind making more when my funds increase. The staff aren’t very snooty and they always clean my ring for free and make me feel like a princess.
What a bunch of assholes at this location. Even the wanna-be secret service guy that mans the INCREDIBLY dangerous front door in the upscale shopping neighborhood of Pasadena. ? I went in here a half hour before quitting time, and NOBODY was happy to see me walk in. ?They were counting their money, and washing the glass free of dirty fingerprints etc.I had $600 to spend on myself, and I felt pretty good about it. ?Where I come from these days that is a nice little wad of play money. ?The “lady” that “helped” me wore a blonde bob haircut, a black fitting suit, and a bad attitude. ?Her name was Allison (she wouldn’t give me her last name, or her home address… and yes, I asked.) ?I was browsing and since they have their jewelry in LOCKED glass cases, it kind of forces you to ask for help. To see the piece, to touch the piece, to know if it fits, and to know the price. ?I told her my budget, and she almost chuckled – like how dare I waste their time with only $600 pauper dollars. ?By the third bracelet I had asked to see, she was sighing and walking like someone put a concrete block on her back. ?I asked her if she had a problem, nope – no problem! The last straw was when I asked to see a necklace and dangling pendant. ?I asked the price, and she said “What do you think?” … Clearly she was going for Customer Service of the year award. ?At this point, I told her that her attitude was a bummer and asked for a comment card. ?What do you know, they were all out! It’s ok tho… I will just take my poor american pesos down to the Jewelry Exchange in Tustin and buy me some blood diamonds.Go to hell Allison.
The Staff was not very helpful. Did not like the guy helping us. ?He did not give show us options. ?The Jewelry is great though.
***3.5 stars***Came here to get a necklace fixed and some earrings cleaned.Simply put:3 stars for their long wait lines (5 people in line, 1 repair man, average 15 minutes to serve each person)4 stars for their nice service. ?The gentlemen who helped me was nice, cordial and courteous despite his heavy client load. ?Even though there were other people waiting in line, when it was my turn, I never felt rushed. ?My earrings that I wear every day were tarn, scratched and in need of a cleaning send-off to the Tiffany’s in NYC. ?Usually it’s $5, but he waived my fee. ?Awesome.Side note: Tiffany’s necklaces seem to break easily. ?Mine and 2 other girls in line came in for necklace repairs.
ASK FOR ISOLDE VANDERPOL. This woman is like the sweet fairy godmother or your favorite kindergarten teacher. Went back for another diamond shopping trip with my mom and Isolde enveloped us in her warmth and professionalism. Was honest in her input– one thing I love about Tiffany’s: no one tries to push junk on you or veer you away from your intentions. No one makes you feel belitted, either, meaning you can shop for jewels in your jeans. My mom definitely does not dress to the nines and as English is not her first language, its easy for salespeople to become impatient or condescending. I came back a few days later and she whisked my silver jewelry away and cleaned it in a jiffy and gave me a few extra pouches for them. Picked out some gifts with equal ease and graciousness that my mom and I had experienced days earlier. Isolde is just wonderful. From what I know, Tiffany diamond rings have experienced 2 price increases this past year. If you’re in the market for a proposal, a surprise, or just a treat, do it now before things skyrocket again.
After shopping at the Beverly Hills, Century City, and Costa Mesa Tiffany & Co stores, I can honestly say that THIS location offers the best customer service. No pushy salespeople with dollar/commission dollar signs in their eyes hounding you the minute you step through their doors … no eager-beaver antics as they suggest almost every and anything, hoping for a sale. Our saleswoman was the sweetest woman (actually gave us a referral of another reputable jeweler) and didn’t give us the exasperated Stank Eye after we asked her to take almost half the stuff out of the glass display cases. ?:) ?She was a good sport.
I came here today to look at some platinum bands. ?I pretty much knew which one I wanted other than the width and the size.I was dressed like a bum and thought twice about coming inside but I was greeted immediately when I walked in the door. ?I asked where their platinum bands were and Jennifer guided me to the counter.I tried several rings on until I found the perfect one. ?We were planning on buying it online through Tiffany’s website but I feel that we must buy it at this location and when Jennifer is working. Thanks for treating me like a VIP even when I looked almost homeless. :)
The products on sale here are fine, I have no problem with the products, and usually I look at the items online and basically walk into the store and ask to buy it. Why do I do this? Well, let me talk about being Latino in the Pasadena Tiffany’s store. If you walk in casually dressed, they will assume you have no money. If you walk in business casual, they’ll glance at you and will help you if you can get their attention. You come in with business attire, they’re all over you.My wife is Japanese and she, like many jp girls, love anything from Tiffany’s. So I came here often to buy stuff. I made the mistake of coming here a few times casually and business casually to see the type of treatment I get. So I went back home, dressed up, came back in, and they were very helpful to me. I made sure to look at all their items, took a good hour or so looking at various rings and necklaces. Then decided to buy them – so I thanked them and drove to the Century City Tiffany’s.Another day I had to buy something immediately as I forgot my wife’s birthday – so I walked in and was fortunate enough (in business casual attire) to meet this nice lady who helped me pick out a necklace. She recognized me the next 4-5 times and was prompt in helping me, no matter how I was dressed. Sadly, she no longer works there so I’m back to everyone ignoring me unless I come in a shirt and tie.In summary, unless you dress like you have money, and are not a minority – you probably will not get too much service or help.
Apparently, if you drop 3 large on a Tiffany Hearts collection platinum ring and pendant for your sweetie, they throw in a free water bottle. ?Thank you smiling heavily commissioned sales lady. ?The water definitely washed down that lump in my throat but it certainly didn’t do much for that hole in my pocket.4 stars for good customer service. ?Returned the ring a few days later for an even exchange when the g/f needed a larger size. ? Bling, bling.
Customer service here SUCKS compared to all the other Tiffany & Co. stores i’ve been to. (i’ve had my fair share of retail jobs in the past too)I only come to this store because it’s close to my bf’s place. ?So… i was on a mission to find a Somerset collection diamond ring. I had called the Pasadena store and asked if i can order the ring over the phone and pick it up when it arrives to the store. ?They basically said that they don’t have the ring and that i cannot ?order it over the phone. Then… i called the Tiffany & Co. on Santa Monica in Century City… the sales associates, Haley, was a HUGE help! She checked the store to see if they had the ring in stock, then she checked the inventory in the system, and she said that she had found two in NY. ?She had told me to call back because the store in NY was already closed. ?Haley was super patient and gave GREAT customer service. The drive to a Tiffany & Co. much further from me is totally worth it. I’m never returning to Tiffany & Co. in Pasadena until they get PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING.i agree with Crystal “What a bunch of assholes”
Disclaimer: I didn’t buy anything. ?I couldn’t buy anything. ?$$$$… but you knew that already.J and I came in here while visiting Old Town Pasadena… we were there “just to look” at wedding bands. ?We knew we wouldn’t be ordering our bands from here, but since some undisclosed online jewelry site makes rings very similar to Tiffany’s, we figured we’d see what styles there are in person. ?And J needed his finger sized.Unlike other jewelry stores that I’ve recently visited, where customer service sucked like no other and the staff knew nothing about their products, the people at Tiffany are A-one. ?The lady who helped us out picked out several rings that could work with my engagement ring and ?let me try all of them on. ?Then she took J’s ring size and showed him several rings that could work for him. ?Unfortunately, everything is WAY out of our budget, but if I could scrounge up the money to get our bling bling from here, I’d do it, knowing full well of the “Tiffany mark-up”. ?Also, my engagement ring was pretty dirty, so I asked about cleaning materials. ?They offer cleaning at customer service (I think it’s about $5) but the lady helping me mentioned to just use some dishwashing detergent and a toothbrush. ?I’m jewelry illiterate but it worked very well! So I didn’t leave with a Little Blue Box, but I left with knowledge of how to clean my ring and knowledge of what rings to order. ?Scha-weet.
My Tiffany bracelet was run over by a car. ?I’ve had that bracelet for 5 years and I was pretty bummed out. ?I took it in imagining what the costs were going to be to fix it and considering even buying a new one if it would be too much to fix it.Khoren was the gentleman who helped me and I told him the story and he didn’t even flinch. ?He looked at the bracelet and said “I’m going to try to save the clasp.” ?He went to the back, came back out and said that it was fixed and that he would just recommend the cleaning service which is $10. ?I was so happy! ?I picked up my bracelet two days later and even though it still has scratches, Khoren said that it’s better than polishing it because it removes the silver shine. ?He said it gave my bracelet character. ?I think it’s true because not very many people can say that they still have their original bracelet intact after being ran over by a car.
When I walked in the door I immediately felt great. The customer service was outstanding and I found what I needed and overall had a great experience
Very modest sized store. ?Surprised they even opened one here when you could go to Beverly Hills or South Coast Plaza instead for a bigger selection.Had his ring cleaned, and noticed that many of the employees were just standing around (dare I say goofing off?). ?I never saw that in Costa Mesa. ?Then again, it’s ALWAYS busy in South Coast. ?This just seems out of place.
sup fools! i needed to get some bling bling for my grill and some other sparkly shit… so i got my homies and peeps and went down to tiffanys….now dawg, this place aint for posers, no no… this place is for true ballers. the people are freakin legit! as soon as we walked through the door with our roca wear and fubu clothing they knew we were real. they came over and immediately felt our clothing all over while we stood with our arms against the wall. they could barely get over how nice it was.so i take out my gold toof and im like… HOLLA! i want some diamonds bitch! the bitch ass from behind the counter gets me some ice and i start putting them in my mouth. i found the perfect one almost immediately. it sparkled like a glock in the moonlight. ?dis place is fo real! im gettin all my bling bling at tiffanys!
I’d have to agree with some of the other yelpers about this place…customer service sucks. There were only about 5 people in there but i was waiting at the counter for a while. They either do not have enough employees there or they just do not care. I ended up getting a ring for a girlfriend, but i was in there longer than i should have been. The only good thing was that once i was helped, it was fast and easy and i was out of there. I think i had to wait long because the dumb dude was indecisive and could not decide on what he wanted so he had one of the employees void his first transaction and then do a new one. Next time i’ll go to South Coast Plaza…
Timeless and Classic ! ?Tiffany’s is a girl’s dream come true! ?The pieces never go out of style and it truly is an investment as prices have gone up over the years for the same pieces of jewelry.Only down side is, Tiffany’s used to offer free jewelry cleaning/polishing, which was always one of the perks to Tiffanys. ?Unfortunately Tiffanys stopped offering this free service years ago. ?Now you have to pay about $10 to get the smallest item cleaned and polished. ? LAME!Although parking isn’t as convenient at the Pasadena location as it would be at a mall located Tiffanys, there is free parking ?for the first 90 min at one of the neighborhood parking garages. ?What this Pasadena located Tiffanys does offer that the mall located ones do not, is Old Town feel. ?Located in the heart of Old Town Pasadena, you can window shop and eat/drink at any of the trendy restaurants located around Colorado Ave. ?Last year my bf surprised me with an initial pendant necklace for my bday and it is my absolute favorite Body jewelry! ?As I’ve always told my guy friends looking for a gift for their gal. You can NEVER go Wrong with Tiffanys and this location is the closest if you don’t live in West LA or OC.
Friendly doorman.Pretty, but a little small inside, which is understandable, given that they were built on a pre-existing limited lot. ?Came here to pick up a b.day gift. Service was okay. ?It was great that it was not stuffy, but it almost felt like it was too casual. ?For Tiffany’s, I expected the staff to be professional and very attentive, but such was not necessarily the case. The staff behind the counters were attentive, but some who were standing in the corner of the store by the silver accessories were talking rather loudly about what they were going to bring for lunch tomorrow. ?And when I walked toward them, they didn’t make eye contact with me to see if I could be helped. ?I may sound like a little grouch, as we are all human and sometime have the urge to chat with our co-workers, which I totally get. I just think that a certain level of professionalism should be maintained in a place like this.
Present time!!!!! I love this place. Got my braclet cleaned and didnt have to wait too long. How could I have anything bad to say about this place. The lady who helped me in customer service was super nice and got my stuff cleaned as I looked around. No complaints. i love the Tiff store
I have Jewish relatives, so jewelry usually comes in a box within a paper bag instead of Tiffany blue. ?I keep myself from buying bracelets and necklaces here by thinking about how much sushi I could buy for the price of a silver necklace. ?I wanted to find something for my boyfriend but I end up falling in love with a beads bracelet. ?I was here with a friend when she needed to get a piece of jewelry cleaned or repaired so I browsed the counters and the sales clerks offer to help but don’t pressure you. ?They do turquoise better than any other shop I’ve been to near Scottsdale.
aT FIRST I liked tiffanys but now i think they are just over priced. You are paying for the name. I still wouldn’t complain if my boy friend got me something from there….. hehe
the simple blue box already makes a girl smile. the feeling you get when you enter the store is amazing. from the lights to the decore and the elegant jewelry all around puts me in a happy place. diamonds really are a girls best friend. the displays are all laid out in an orderly fashion based on themes. there is a wide range regards to pricing, so anyone who’s anyone can purchase a little precious token for themselves or another. i just recently purchased my “i love you” rings for my partner and I. the assistance you get is great; they really aid in helping you pick out the perfect set. they are helpful regards to suggestions and honest about unmatchable styles. they really want you to leave fully satisfied with a gem that you would wear everyday. ever since our purchase, we have never removed our rings. it is truly a classic style, still holding a modern look suitable for both men and women. once my ordered rings arrived earlier then expected, they gave me a kind reminder and let us try it on to check if it is an exact fit. this store provides quality care and i cannot wait until my next little blue box surprise.
Tiffany is a name that just embodies class and elegance. I have a few items and I must say, they are both classic and elegant. The price was reasonable and the pieces are still just as amazing to me today as they were the day that I received them. The store’s staff are friendly, down to their security guards. While prices can be a lil up there, at least you know that you’ve made an investment in products that are guaranteed. Diamonds are precious, just as the shopping experience should be as well. Their sterling silver items are awesome too, as they are affordable and there are tons of options. Parking for this store location can be a pain. But, it’s a fun trip!!
The highest quality jewelry you can get. ?If you can eventually afford one of their watches or rings, it is worth it. ?Seriously, you can tell the difference. ?These are heirlooms you are buying. ?All the diamonds are perfect. ?Great customer service. ?Some say that with the effort to try to reach the masses, the place has become cliche, but even the $100 necklaces are classy. ?The problem is that CA has almost a 10% tax rate. ?Better to buy it in another state.
I like this place we arrived right when they were about to close so it was better cause we had the store all to ourselves. ?Anyways I got a necklace here and its still shining but I really dislike all the tiny scratches from the chain. But yeahs as for the workers their pretty friendly and helpful especially the Asian lady. I recommend this place :] Ohhh and by the way I love their signature box my necklace came with
not a good shopping experience… so sad because I wanted to have a good one. i dont care if I never buy anything from there again. (been to the pasadena and the beverly center locations)
Michael was very helpful in helping me pick out the perfect gift. The staff was courteous and cheerful which made the experience very pleasant. I purchased a cuff bracelet from here for my mom. She was thrilled when she got it and that is all that counts.

Sumi’s specializes in artisan made products with an emphasis on jewelry.

History

Established in 2005

It all started in March of 2005 by taking a walk with my husband through our neighborhood. We passed by a vacant store (now Sumi’s) and called the number for more information. The manager lives above the store, so we got to see it immediately. Max, my husband, designs stores for a living and I was an elementary school teacher with loads of retail experience, so we went for it! At the time, I was representing a handbag line that my mother makes. Her bags, which she makes in Helsinki, are now one of my top selling lines.

This is to update my previous post. The girlfriend I referred to earlier recently became my fiance – and yes, the ring came from Sumi’s, and yes, she loved it. A one of a kind piece (as in, quite seriously, no other woman in the world has the same ring), it was exactly what I was hoping to find for her. All the above still applied – I was in and out in 30 minutes, with parking right in front, and Sumi’s full assistance in finding the perfect piece, a unique gold ring with two small diamonds and a ruby (my girl’s birthstone!!!) The price was right for an engagement ring as well, was not looking to spend three months salary on a generic diamond band, as it was I spent 1.5 week salary on a perfectly wonderful piece. She’ll wear it for the rest of her life, and I imagine I’ll have to get 5, 10, and 20 year presents from Sumi to follow it up.Thanks for much for being an amazing shop-owner Sumi, your place is really important to us and I appreciate all the help you’ve given me while I’ve shopped there – happy holidays and I wish continued success.
A lovely little shop on Sunset with a well-curated collection of goods. Everything in the store is very tasteful and most importantly, unique, from the bags, jewelry and gifts. This is a great place to pick up something special for your mom or girlfriend. If you love shopping on Etsy, this is a wonderful brick and mortar store for you!
Located on a somewhat desolate strip on Sunset, Sumi is a great little shop for affordable one-of-a-kind gifts. I’ve given the handmade, fabric purses, jewelry, delicate ceramics…and always enjoy my time in the very personal shop. She also carries groovy Chilewich placemats.A bonus now is the FoodLab that opened next door for yummy snacks.
My favorite go-to store for gifts, handbags and jewelry. ?I have many pieces of jewelry from Sumi and am constantly asked where my jewelry is from. ?All of her pieces are original, high quality and one of a kind. ?Sumi and her staff provide 5-star service. ?I love this shop!
GREAT place..unique gitts, I love the handmade purses in all sizes and styles. Made in Finland by the owner’s mom. I use mine all the time.Interesting jewelry in all price ranges and just a pleasant shop with items you won’t find at the mall.GO
My favorite jewelry and gift shop. My friends and family LOVE every gift I’ve ever bought here. The jewelry is very unique at affordable prices. I don’t even waste time looking for gifts in other places, Sumi’s always has the perfect gift…
Sumi’s is great!! It’s the only place I go to buy jewelry. Everything is so beautiful and delicate and there are pieces in every price range. ?Every time you go in there are new things, the store is always changing. ?And Sumi is so nice and accommodating, she has ordered things for me multiple times that she no longer carries. Also, when I had a necklace that broke ?she replaced it right away, no questions asked. Everyone should support her as an independent jewelry stop and local business!!
This is one of my favorite stores. ?I have bought more jewelry here than I would like to admit to and I love every piece. ?I love buying from Sumi and she does a great job knowing what pieces I would like. ?Her taste is impeccable. ?If you need a gift for someone (or yourself) this is the place to go.
The variety of price ranges and beautiful, unique pieces make this my go-to place for jewelry and gifts! ?Great customer service, too. ?I bought an awesome necklace there a while back and when one of the stones broke a month later they repaired it for free, no questions asked. ?I love this place and you will too!
Sumi’s old business card said “your new favorite place for jewelry.” ?Maybe it still does, I don’t know. ?But truer words were never spoken. ?For my wife and I this is the stop on the Eastside for gifts and jewelry. ?At last count…three birthdays an graduation and our wedding rings. ?there are a ton of little stores out there, each with a slightly different vibe…a different taste and a different style. ?Sumi’s to me, is head and shoulders above the rest.
Great shop and Sumi is so friendly! The jewelry is fantastic and the prices vary from about $20 bucks to hundreds and hundreds, so anyone can find something in their price range. They have cool stuff for the home and a cute variety of baby stuff. It’s a great store for a perfect gift or a little something for yourself.
A few years back someone hand painted bookends of different silhouettes of Los Angeles. The color schemes were great too. ?Lavender on plum, cornflower on midnight, mint on pine. ?I’m glad I bought three. ?I get complimented on them all the time. ?They were a bit pricey, $125 a piece Pearl jewelry, but I need chain linked fences, pigeons, and palm trees painted below the downtown Los Angeles sky line holding up my books. ?Now, about the earings, I wouldn’t buy them. ?You don’t know if they’ve been worn. ?I get the idea that the owner wears the stuff then sells it.
I love Sumi’s. ?The jewelry ?is so beautiful and is available in a wide range of prices. ?It’s a great place to buy a gift for a friend.. or yourself! In a world full of shopping malls it’s nice to have a store that knows it’s vendors and can tell you all about them. ?Also when a stone in one of my necklaces got loose, Sumi’s sent it back to the artist to be fixed for free.
Lots of really cool, good-quality things for a decent price. The staff is friendly and informative about the products freshwater Pearl Necklaces! I like that. Hand blown glass is the best!
Very beautiful, well-designed jewelry, modern but classic.
Great jewelry store at good prices. Have gotten gifts and stuff for myself. Very nice people working there too!
Lovely and original fabric handbags and totebags among other treasures! Each handbag has its own unique button fastening. ?Friendly and helpful service makes it a comfortable place to shop. ?Parking can be a challenge, but well worth the effort.
I found many beautiful pieces of unique jewelry both for work and for play at Sumi’s. It’s also a great place for getting one of a kind cool gifts. Love this store.
I have not found a more original and elegant store for gifts and jewelry than Sumi’s in Los Angeles. She has exquisite taste and sources subtle and unique pieces.
Love this shop – and Sumi too – so friendly and helpful wholesale jewelry!! ?Sumi’s mother in Finland makes the purses and bags – they are so cool and beautiful. ?I recently bought a darling purple and green bag and two silk and peridot necklaces as gifts, which were loved by all. ?Totally recommend this shop (she also carries cool home accessories)!!
There I was, minding my own business walking down Sunset when I saw an array of the most incredible purses, clutches and totes in a shop window. I mean, I’m really not in the market for a new bag but my feet knew what my head tried to deny & in I walked to the most wonderful boutique. The bags that caught my eye are designed and sewn by Carita Viola – Sumi’s mom – in Finland. When I mentioned that I’m very hard on my purses, Sumi told me the bags are made of mostly upholstery fabrics so they’ll stand up to even my (unintentional) abuse. Great – now I had to make a decision. There were so many & I loved them all!And then I saw the rest of the store – are you kidding me? Jewelry, paintings, ceramics, glassware – all exquisite and original. It’s a good thing I stopped carrying my credit cards with me or I would have done serious damage to my finances. The store is simply a fine, fine place to shop for yourself or anyone else. I can’t recommend it highly enough. And, yes, I finally decided on the perfect shoulder bag. Somehow I know it won’t stop there.
I love going to this store. ?A lot of their items are right up my alley. ?There’s lots of simple jewelry, at really really reasonable prices. ?Other items include paintings, fabric bags and purses that look like they’re handmade – but in high quality, gorgeous lamps in mid century style, ceramics, vases, some wallets, and other home decor items. ?The owner, Sumi, is super nice and helpful. ?She keeps wishlists for customers, so that’s extra helpful for the clueless boyfriends!
Sumi’s is wonderful. They are more than jewelry, they have all kinds of gifts as well. They use beautiful work from local artists. My sister and I have bought presents for our friends there and my sister actually gave me the most gorgeous ring to wear at her wedding. I highly recommend. Plus, they’re really nice. Great way to support the local arts community and get gorgeous, original stuff that all your friends will covet.
I love Sumi’s. ?When I first moved into the neighborhood, I never went inside ?because I just assumed that this store was too expensive-one of those “What do they think they’re doing in this neighborhood type of places.” ?And they do have kind of pricey pieces, like a $125 business card holder. ?So ok, it’s art. ?BUT, they actually have the most exquisite jewelry for even my current budget. ?Real semiprecious gem stones wrapped and set in gold and silver and now they even have conflict-free diamonds. ?I love my little gold and clear quartz necklace ($69). ?Very simple and feminine. ?I wear it almost everyday. ?And Bailey, one of the sales people, is super nice. ?She lets me try on whatever I want. ?She’s kind of evil in that way. ?:)
I love stopping in to browse the jewelry. ?I’ve gotten gifts for friends & myself – and I’ve been given my most beloved gifts from here too. ?Sumi has great taste!

When I decided to start my search for the perfect engagement ring, everyone I know said they have a “guy” , and of course I was referred to Michael by a good friend along with a handful of other places. I went to each and spoke to each person that I was referred to, after shopping each of them I have to say hands down Michael and Tiffany are the best! Their quality is amazing, no matter your budget, style, whatever it is you want they will find it for, not to mention, their customer service is exceptional. Each time I went to visit, they always make you feel like the most important client. They remember everything you liked, and you never get the feeling like he’s trying to push you in a certain direction. I can’t thank these guys enough for making the experience as perfect as you want it to be freshwater Pearl Necklaces, I highly recommend you check them out, and I’m sure you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Michael and Tiffany, you guys are awesome!
Michael made a great engagement ring for my now wife. ?I brought in a picture and he made an even better ring. ?His daughter was there when I went to pick the ring up and she informed me how her dad stayed up all night to make the ring just perfect. ?He cast one ring first and wasn’t completely satisfied with it so started over again.I went to Robbins Brothers to get ideas and they warned me about what a crappy ring I would get in Downtown LA. ?Then they quoted me a price twice as much as Michael for a cookie cutter ring.I absolutely recommend Twinkle Star Jewelry.
Michael is a great jeweler. ?He is a straight shooter and will always cut you the best deal he can for the best quality stones. ?I would recommend anyone and everyone to Twinkle Star Jewelry.Enjoy!
Michael is a fantastically talented jeweler! After being recommended to him by my cousin, a long time customer of his, my fiancee and I went to him for our engagement ring. We brought in a picture of what we wanted and he made it for us. It turned out better than the picture! I get tons of compliments on it. We will be returning to him for our wedding rings and for other pieces. His prices are great and he has a gorgeous selection of diamonds and other jewelry. Highly recommended!
Michael and his daughter Tiffany are amazing Pearl jewelry! ? I had a 10 year old ring that needed a new setting. ?He was very honest and actually weighed the stones in front of me. ?He redid my setting with even better stones and made it sparkle like never before. ?Thank You Twinklestar !!!

I bought my engagement ring from Oscar. ? Oscar was fantastic — he is a true craftsman who came up with a beautiful design and implemented it flawlessly, and my fiancee loved the ring he made for her. I knew nothing about engagement rings, but this was a hugely important purchase. ?I went to about 15 different stores, and my fiancee liked Oscar’s designs the best of all of the places we looked. ? ?We were both very comfortable with him, and he gave us some really useful information about options that other merchants simply hadn’t provided (ask him about platinum versus gold rings, for example). Here is a list of the pros and cons I took away from the experience:Cons:Oscar is really busy. ?He is extremely friendly about it, but expect to have to spend some time waiting for him while you are shopping for the ring. And in terms of delivery time, we weren’t in a huge hurry to have the ring delivered, but it did take him 3 weeks to make the ring. ?That said, he knew we weren’t in a huge hurry, and he estimated 4 weeks, so he delivered in under his estimate.Communication: ?Oscar doesn’t immediately return emails. ?He did always eventually return the emails, and you can always call, but he isn’t a blackberry instant responder type. ?On the other hand, do you really need this in a jewelry designer?Pros: Craftsmanship: ?The ring he made was amazing. ? You can look at the workmanship under a microscope. ? He has a background as a purchaser of diamonds, so he gets amazing stones, and he does extremely high quality work with the ring. ?The one part he doesn’t do himself is the small diamonds around the band, but he has a particular craftsman he uses in San Diego who does an amazing job with those stones (micro pave). ? Integrity: ?You can tell that Oscar values his reputation much more than he values a sale. ?He is honest and straightforward in his interactions, and gives you the truth regardless of how it might impact a sale or his profit margin.Experience/Knowledge: ?One thing that drove me nuts when we were looking for rings was everyone telling me that platinum was more expensive than gold. ?I couldn’t understand why, since the metals are the same price now. ?Oscar was the only one who could explain why (there is much more platinum by weight in a platinum ring than in a gold ring of the same size). ?Between his comprehensive knowledge of diamonds and jewelry, you could just see the years of experience, and you were comfortable that you were in good hands.Professionalism: Oscar delivers what he promises. ?He goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied. ?He knew I wanted the ring a bit early in order to propose the next weekend. ? He arranged to have it shipped back from the artisan who does the micro pave overnight. ? ? When we went to pick up the ring wholesale jewelry, my fiancees hands were a bit swollen, and Oscar and his staff stayed late to make sure the ring would fit comfortably and that we could take it with us that day.
When it came time for my husband to pop the question, he headed downtown in search for the perfect ring for me. ?He search high and low for a particular cut of diamond which can be hard to come by. ?He went to several stores and lo and behold he found it at Oscar’s. ?Oscar pulled out the stone from his personal collection and educated the hubby on the four C’s of the business. ?Since Joe had been running around the diamond district for a good part of the day, Oscar kindly treated him to free lunch while waiting on the ring. ?Oscar and his staff didn’t try to swindle my husband and gave him great customer service. ?With that being said, I went with Joe back to Oscar’s in search of my wedding band. ?One of the store associates assisted us. ?She listened to the type of ring I was looking for and gave her feminine input on what would pair nicely with my engagement ring. ?We made our purchase in under an hour. ?But when we got home my husband saw the 10% discount on Yelp and immediately called Oscar’s about it. ?Even after purchase, they kindly added the discount. ?Thank you Oscar’s for decorating my ring fingers with some beautiful pieces.
I had an amazing experience at Oscar’s Design! I designed the ring for my girlfriend and could not be HAPPIER :-) Oscar was patient, honest and helpful. I plan on going here many times in the future!
We love Oscar’s! ?great people, great jewelry, and the absolute best prices. ?Do not go to some fancy brand name store, do not buy anything online… go see Oscar. ?My fianc gets complemented on her ring all the time, and it’s all because Oscar took the time to describe to me what it was that’s important in buying an engagement ring. ?We just bought our wedding rings there too.
My fiance and I actually stumbled upon Oscar’s by chance-we arrived early for an appointment at another store downstairs, so we decided to explore the rest of the building. ?Thank goodness we found Oscar’s! ?The second we walked in, everyone was so welcoming and helpful, and the jewelry is just beautiful and of great quality. ?I felt that they truly wanted to help me find “the ring”, instead of just trying to make a sale. ?There are no high-pressure sales tactics here at all, which is rare downtown. ?They truly let the quality of the jewelry sell itself. ?And if you just can’t find that perfect piece…they will design it for you! ?Which is what we decided to do. ?I gave Oscar an idea of what I wanted, he added his creative input, and after exchanging emails (including photos of the wax mold and computer images of the to-be ring) and tweaking things here and there, they created a truly beautiful ring!We didn’t have a huge budget; they will definitely work with you to give you the best for what you can afford. ?I absolutely recommend Oscar’s not just for engagement/wedding rings but for any other jewelry. We ended up also getting my wedding band here, and that is just gorgeous as well. ?You just have to come in to see their pave work, it is just beautiful-everything is lined up so perfectly and the diamonds really sparkle and shine. ?Thanks so much to Oscar, Jean-Claude and Kay for always being so helpful!
The short of it: I didn’t have my wedding ring in time for my destination wedding. The really long of it….I got a call from Oscar 4 weeks after my wedding. He wanted to talk to me after seeing my original review on Yelp! He said he felt bad about my experience at his shop and said that he was upset about my review. He asked me to revisit my review. My dealings with Oscar had to do with my wedding band. It’s an emotional purchase. I agreed to revisit my review to see if I was too subjective/emotional, but before I could, I get an email from Yelp! saying my review has been removed. I can only assume he complained to Yelp! about my review and had it removed. Here is my second attempt to be less emotional and more objective with my experience at Oscars….I came to Oscar’s six weeks before my wedding. I had searched many stores looking for a ring. I found a nice ring at Oscar’s (created by another designer). I was working with Jean-Claude. I asked him if he could make a minor change to a ring he had in the case. He told me ‘no’, but that they could make the ring I wanted. I took the time to draw a sketch to illustrate what I was looking for. Jean-Claude assured me he could create the ring I wanted. I said okay and gave him my deposit. Jean-Claude told me that he would have the ring ready for me in a week. TWO weeks later, I HAD TO CALL them to check on my ring. They said it wasn’t ready yet, but would be done in a few days. An additional week later, I HAD TO CALL AGAIN. They said the ring was ready. I went to the shop to check it out. IT WAS NOTHING LIKE WHAT I REQUESTED. The frustrating part is that I drew a sketch and they had a ring almost exactly like it already in the shop. Obviously Jean-Claude wasn’t paying attention. To top if all off, the center diamond was crooked. Oscar eventually explained the process that they used (casting two different pieces, then putting them together). This was an issue on all 3 rings shown to me, the center stones were crooked on all of rings produced by Oscar.I became pretty upset at this point. Oscar then got involved. He apologized for the mix up. And said they would try it again and have it done in a couple of days. He even said that he would have one of his associates bring it to me when it was completed. It was at this time I asked Oscar, point blank, if he could really accomplish what I wanted. He reassured me that he could.I had to follow up with them again. Four weeks had passed by the time I saw the second ring. I met with his associate near my house (as promised Glass beads, he did have someone drop it off). He said to keep it for the night and to let him know if I wanted to keep the ring. It was a very pretty ring and I did consider keeping it, but again, it was not what I asked for, nor was the center diamond straight…I returned the diamond the next day and asked for a refund of my deposit. He complied. I believe Oscar genuinely tried to send me off as a “happy” customer. He offered a very tempting price reduction on the third attempt at making my ring, due to my experience with his shop thus far. I eventually accepted the offer (due to the savings). I only had two weeks left until I left for my wedding. Needless to say, Oscar’s last attempt at my ring had nicks on it that couldn’t be buffed out and again, the center stone setting was crooked. At this point, I only had about a week before my wedding and I had to go to a different jeweler. The other jeweler (whom I won’t mention here since Yelp! may remove my review for that…) got my ring done in one shot with excellent service and communication, but because I had used up all of my time with Oscar’s, I didn’t have my ring in time for my wedding. ?I had to get married with a substitute steel band…After receiving the call from Oscar but before having my review removed from Yelp!, I was going to call Oscar back and give him a second chance…that way I could detail my review with what I was hoping would be a successful transaction between us. Since it is my belief (no proof, just circumstantial evidence) that he complained to Yelp! and had my review removed…I have no desire to do so. I will not go back to Oscars.
Not only have I featured Oscar on my TV news reports over the years… and not only have I featured Oscar on my Best Buys TV Show… and not only is Oscar listed on my website http://www.AlanBestBuy…… but I also got my wife’s engagement ring from Oscar. ?What more can I say?
So the economy is bad…everyone gets it. Times are tough and we’re all trying to save. Funny thing is, every time I go to Oscar’s his place is packed. I’ve gone on a Saturday afternoon, Tuesday morning, doesn’t matter). The other stores in the same building cannot say the same. On my last visit (to pick out wedding rings now that the engagement business is all done – satisfied customers coming back), this woman commented on how people just keep coming in, to which Oscar replied, “Yes, it gets busy sometimes.” I laughed and interjected saying that Oscar’s is always busy b/c he’s such a good jeweler, but he’s to humble to admit to his popularity. I think the world of Oscar, but judging by how busy he is, so does everyone else.
I recently got my engagement ring here. Spent over 4 months of research and found this cool place. The staff here is not pushy at all. I met Oscar, the owner, and he was just so laid back. I gave him my budget and what I want in a diamond. And he met my expectation. He gave me a good deal on the diamond too. Ask him and he would give you a brief education on diamonds. There’s a parking lot next to the building; it’s $5 for 3 minutes, maximum $12 or $15 (don’t remember) and it’s cheaper on the weekends after hours *sorry I’ll update this next time I get there*
Okay I agree that the owner is the nicest guy and really laid back, but our experience here wasn’t that great. Probably because it was a busy saturday.BIG TIP: do not go to the jewelry district on saturdays… that’s their busiest day of the week and they have a lot of additional hired hands helping. Some who really shouldn’t be doing sales. If you go on a week day you will have a totally unrushed, calm experience with a salesperson who can actually spend time with you.We had this really push guy with a thick russian accent that just kept pestering us with to look at diamonds when all we wanted was to look at ring settings. “How much do you want to spend?” “What size diamond?” “Don’t worry about the ring, not important, the diamond is the important, we can do whatever you want with the ring” “You want to look at some diamonds?” “Yes, no?”At the end of an hour of dealing with this pushy salesperson, my fiancee and I were completely drained and left not feeling any closer to finding the perfect ring…
I rarely give 5 stars, but I felt especially inclined to give Oscar 5 stars. ? I believe Oscar been in the business for, what, 18 years? ?He knows stones, he knows the jewelry market/business, and he knows he wants repeat customers by doing business that make his customers happy. ?There are a SIGNIFICANT number of jewelers in the downtown jewelry district, but I think you’ll find that Oscar’s is typically almost always busy. ?Why? ? Good, honest business generates repeat customers and referrals. ? I always have a pretty good sense of a person’s character/integrity, and I really truly think Oscar is a one-of a kind jeweler. ?He knows that many of his customers come here for very special purchases and they are spending their hard-earned money, and he respects that. ? I haven’t dealt with many high-end jewelers in my life, but you can pretty much guarantee I expect to have a long-term business-type relationship with Oscar (fortunate for him, unfortunate for my budget!), because of a previous purchase. ? If you’re in the market for bling, check this man out!!!
Been our jeweler for 10 years now. Oscar’s an expert gemologist and he provides excellent customer service. You deal with him directly and not with a sales guy like in other jewelry stores. ?Pricing is very competitive, actually better than big jewelry shops like the one down in Tustin.
I got my Simon G. e-ring and wedding band set from Oscars and it was breathtaking. When I first saw the rings, I could’ve sworn I literally stopped breathing for awhile before I started laughing uncontrollably and almost cried at the same time. The rings are just impeccable and a showstopper! Okay, maybe I’m a little bit biased since I did pick the design and this kind of purchase is very personal and subjective. But as a customer, I would say that Oscar delivered and gave me exactly what I expected…a very high quality item at a very reasonable price. After jotting down a few places (through yelp reviews) in the jewelry district, my other half and I went on our quest to find the “perfect” e-ring. The initial process was not easy and it was overwhelming. We were confused as to where to start and I didn’t even have a setting yet. But I knew the diamond shape that I wanted and I was hoping that looking around the stores would give me a better idea of a setting. I bumped into Oscars when looking for a setting and saw some Simon G settings that caught my eye in the store. For our second visit, I told Oscar I wanted to look at diamonds too, and gave him the shape and the specification ranges (5Cs + table % + depth % + GIA + fluorescence, etc) that I’m looking for. Yes, I am very THOROUGH and very PICKY. Oscars hands down has the best/tight range of specifications on the diamond I was looking for compared to this other store downstairs that showed us several oddball stones (visible inclusion smack dab in the center, an IF stone within specs but has a bad cut and no sparkle, EGL not GIA cert, etc.). So we were cornered to pick between worse or better, but none we were sure of. This makes me feel uneasy and is not acceptable after I specifically indicated what I’m looking for. I find ?Oscar and his staff (Jean Claude and Kaye) very pleasant to work with. Oscar is knowledgeable and patient (at times we were there for hours and left with nothing) and did not push us in anyway to make a purchase. And I like his straightforward approach minus the sales pitch (Robbins Bros – I’m looking at you!). The only downside is that Oscar doesn’t provide free replating. But this is not a big issue to me since I did not get white gold nor do I anticipate to service the ring often. A good quality ring should minimize its maintenance. As the old adage goes, you get what you pay for, so I don’t mind paying a bit for a job well done. Here are some tips that I learned from the ring buying process: 1) Diamond: The CUT of the stone is MOST important and you can sacrifice color and clarity. You can have a gorgeous sparkly stone that reflects light in the G-I color and VS2 or lower clarity that people will not be able to tell on a setting; or you can have a D-F color and VVS2+ clarity that is poorly cut and look dull while paying more $$$. I would definitely pick the former. 2) Experience: Ultimately, the quest for the “perfect” stone is more intuitive than it is technical. Each stone is unique and has its own personality. So try to look through as many stones as you can to train your eyes and get a feel for it, get VERY confused – it’s normal, stop for a few weeks, and start looking again. You will know when you find “the one.” I started by looking for “the best” cut, color, and clarity but even though the one I pick is not the best on paper, I’m absolutely in love with it. 3) Setting: Most stores can make the setting you want BUT after much thought I decided to go with a name brand. Gold is gold, platinum is platinum, right? Maybe. But I’m not a jeweler nor do I have their expertise. But I know most rings are not pure and are alloys of different metals that affect the quality of the ring. A name brand gives me some sense of security that ?what I have is of good quality and requires the least maintenance. This is where I lucked out to find both the stone AND setting at Oscars.4) Don’t judge a store by its cover: Many times while I was at Oscars I would see couples come in pearl earrings, glance around, and leave while I’m silently thinking, “their loss”. To be honest, I was skeptical about Oscars too in the beginning since they have limited jewelry displayed, and they don’t market themselves as a specialty (i.e. bridal) jewelry store. But most brides or bride-to-bes tend to have an idea of the setting they want from magazine, celebrities, friends’, websites, childhood fantasies, or their own design, etc. So it is not cost effective or logical for stores to have a large display of sample rings.5) Don’t feel obligated to make a purchase no matter how nice and accommodating the sales person is. It’s their job but it’s your hard-earned money.I hope this review helps in your ring hunting stress…err…process. So if you happen to be in the area, check Oscars out. You don’t have anything to lose
After months of searching for the perfect engagement ring, I came across Oscar’s Design Jewelry, and decided to give Oscar a call. I told him what I was looking for and what I wanted to spend. He said to visit the next time I was in California, and that he’d work with me to get me what I want. That was all I needed to hear before settling on buying a ring from him. From just speaking to him over the phone, I could tell that he’s a good guy. ? When my now fiancee and I arrived to his store, Oscar sat down with us and went over all of our options. I tried on a few different styles of a similar look, and decided on the perfect setting. Then it was on to the most important part– the center stone. After a few minutes of inspections and negotiations, I had settled on a beautiful stone, while remaining within my budget. Oscar is genuine and will get you the best possible piece of jewelry your finances will allow. He’s extremely professional, personable, honest and truly cares about his customers. ? I couldn’t be happier with the purchase, my gorgeous ring, the superb service we received and the quality and craftsmanship of my ring. Oscar made me a custom ring that has been getting compliments ever since I took it out in public. I highly recommend Oscar’s, and will definitely be back myself for the wedding band and other pieces as well. Thanks Oscar!
Beautiful diamonds and Oscar is a doll. ?I checked out many different places in the jewelry district and Oscars fit the bill. ?His diamonds are beautiful and he offers many unique settings. ?I told him my budget (which was not that substantial in terms of diamonds) and he didn’t bat an eye or make me feel the fool. ?He has jewelry for every price range, just let him know and he will hook you up. ?My husband and I have been looking for a jeweler that can be our “go-to” guy and Oscar is definitely him.
I went there to see if they could design a custom wedding band for me. Oscar was so busy, one of his hired helping hands was helping us. We showed her our engagement ring as reference, and let me say, she didn’t handle the ring with respect. She shoved it into the ring sizer very hard, dropped it once on the glass, and that was pretty much it. I took back the engagement ring and left.
I have nothing but good things to say about Oscar’s. ?My fiancee and I actually purchased a white sapphire in lieu of a diamond, for both ethical and financial reasons, and then went to Oscar to design the setting. ?We chose him because of the positive reviews on Yelp, and were definitely glad we did. ?He’s friendly, attentive, takes his time with you, and delivers a beautiful, high quality product. ?Oscar never balked over us wanting an alternative to a diamond. ?And I love my ring! ?It’s a beautiful stone in a very classic yet modern setting, and very well made.
Picked out an engagement ring on my own from another place and my wife didn’t like the setting. ?We took the ring to Oscars and he worked with us back and forth for a few months custom designing exactly what my wife wanted. ?He even sat down in front of the computer with us to design the ring in 3D and made several different iterations of the wax mold for us. ?In the end, the ring turned out amazing and he only charged us for the labor in making the ring (allowing us to trade the old platinum setting in for the new platinum). ?He is one of the few who truly cares about his trade and his clients, and he’s the only jeweler I’ll be going to in the future. ?The only downside is the pricey downtown parking.
I came here a second time after I purchased my wife’s engagement ring. ?This time, I bought my wedding band. ?I give Oscar five star for his patience, demeanor, and attitude. I’m not much of a shopper, but my wife IS. ?I can say that we looked all over downtown for 1) quality engagement rings, 2) fair to good prices, 3) good service and quality support. ?I have to say that Oscar’s has all three aspects down to a science. ?When we were shopping for a ring, we compared his rings to Tiffany’s. ?Most of the similar rings at the same price range were of significant lower quality. ?When you compare price to price, you will typically find lower quality diamonds or craftmanship, or lesser service. ?When we came in a second time to purchase my wedding band, Oscar polished and cleaned the engagement ring to a new shine so the ring looked bigger and brighter for the wedding. ?All I have to say is I’m a very satisfied customer and I’m certain Oscar will satisfy you, too.
I stopped into Oscar’s Design Jewelry after visiting several other shops in los angeles and in orange county. Initially i bought my fiance an engagement ring from Michael B.( very expensive/High end) and i bought the engagement bands with it. However the bands were too big and according to every other shop including Michael B. it could not be resized due to having micro pave diamonds all around. Instead, they would have to make new bands and my current bands would only be worth only their materials (essentially worthless). Long story short, i met Oscar and right away he understood my situation and sized the band and also made sure it was identical to the engagement ring and he made sure to keep the design stamp intact. He saved me thousands and was the nicest and most fair priced jeweler that i have met. Dont get me wrong, Michael B was awesome and nice but they are not even on the same level as Oscar. I will be going back to Oscar for all my jewelery in the future.
They have wonderful customer service, were very knowledgeable and are reasonably priced. Would recommend this place over the other stores in the building. Ask for Kay. She’s great!
Thank you so much, Valencia of Oscar’s Design Jewelry for finding us our wedding rings and sticking within our budget. Thank you Oscar. ?He’s got very classy designs that fits any budget. ?Best to go there on weekdays since we got superb service and attention. I will definitely go back for an upgrade when the time comes :) ?Thanks again!

Great service from Harout Wholesale Jewelry, ?he has served my family who are spread all over the world for over 20 years. ?They all refuse to buy anywhere else. ?Nothing is a problem at this establishment and its highly recommended.
I love love love Wilma jewelry! I believe this is a “father and son” owned business thus, when you walk in, you are treated like family. They have been helpful throughout my indecisive journey to find my perfect engagement ring. I have probably been to this shop 10xs pearl earrings, but every time I walk in, the 2 gentlemen greet me with a warm smile. This kind of treatment is not found anywhere else! If you walk into any other store 3+ times without purchasing anything, they will definitely not make you feel welcomed! At first glance, their store seems a bit smaller than others seen at DT jewelry district, but do not judge a store based on their square footage! They have many unique settings! ?Harout does an AMAZING job with hand engravings!!! If you love vintage with some personalized character, then WILMA JEWELRY IS THE PLACE TO GO Wholesale beads!

Coral has been popular to use in jewelry types and other ornamental reasons for a long time now. This particular popularity can be mostly attributed to the excellent colors of the jewel, and the somewhat unusal nature of its origin. A Challenging Wire Covered Coral Jewelry Project
Tweet Trapped on video tape, I completed a new most challenging wire wrapping project. One of our colleagues had several coral which she bought in her indigenous Algeria more than 20 years ago. Khalida said she bought from people who amassed it off the Mediterranean coastline. She loved made from but as you can see from the 3 major pieces, there were a couple of issues for me to undertake. The first was clearly the shape. The main piece was akin to knobbly poultry feet due to the branching characteristic of red coral. The two small infrequent dagger pieces were also undrilled. After some consultation with Khalida, copper was chosen. So I tried out some grouped wrapping with whirls which worked as the wire work did not hide the reefs. This was important to Khalida. That design feature appeared to be carried over to the earrings. The only thing holding most of these dagger pieces to the ear wires could be the wire wrapping.
